The week-long Teacher Training Programme under the EFL-ASiA Project, conducted in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha, Barpeta, held at Chenga Higher Secondary School from 24th to 30th June 2026, has been successfully completed.
The training was designed to help teachers activate and revitalize existing school libraries, transforming them into vibrant learning spaces that nurture reading, creativity, and lifelong learning. The sessions were conducted by experienced resource persons from the Eklavya Foundation, who introduced practical and engaging strategies for making school libraries an active part of children’s learning.
During the programme, the training was visited by the DPO (Teacher Training), DPO (ECCE), District FLN Coordinator, Samagra Shiksha Barpeta, BEEO, BRPs, and CRCCs of Chenga Education Block. They interacted with the participants, observed the sessions, appreciated the quality of the training, and congratulated GVM for successfully implementing this important initiative.
We are proud to share that 73 out of 75 nominated teachers successfully completed the training. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants appreciating the hands-on activities, interactive sessions, and practical ideas that they can immediately implement in their school libraries.
Supported by Tata Trusts, the EFL-ASiA Project is working to revive school libraries and build a strong reading culture—ensuring that every library becomes a vibrant learning space and every child discovers the joy of reading.
