Every year, the people of Assam face the devastating impact of floods, which disrupt lives, destroy homes, and leave thousands of families struggling for survival. In response to the ongoing flood crisis in 2026, Gramya Vikash Mancha (GVM) has once again mobilized its volunteers and resources to provide timely humanitarian assistance to affected communities.
With more than 25 years of experience in disaster response and community service, GVM remains committed to standing beside vulnerable families during times of crisis.

Reaching Communities in Need
Our dedicated volunteer teams have been working tirelessly in flood-affected districts, including Sivasagar and Charaideo, ensuring that relief materials reach families living in the most challenging conditions.
Despite damaged roads, waterlogged villages, and difficult terrain, our volunteers continue to deliver essential supplies directly to affected households.
Relief Distribution
As part of the ongoing flood relief campaign, GVM has already extended assistance to more than 4,500 flood-affected families.
Each family relief kit contains essential items such as:
- Rice
- Pulses
- Edible Oil
- Salt
- Biscuits
- Flattened Rice (Chira)
- Jaggery
- Drinking Water
- Baby Food
- Tarpaulin Sheets
- Sanitary Napkins
- Medicines
- Phenyl Bottle
- Other emergency household essentials

Within just three days, our volunteers successfully distributed over 1,400 family relief kits, ensuring that immediate needs were addressed in some of the worst-affected areas.
Standing with Assam
Floods not only damage homes but also destroy livelihoods, education, healthcare access, and the dignity of thousands of families. The impact is especially severe in remote villages where access to relief remains a major challenge.
Gramya Vikash Mancha believes that humanitarian assistance is more than distributing relief materials—it is about restoring hope, supporting recovery, and helping communities rebuild their lives.
