Breastfeeding Week: Promoting Healthy Beginnings

Breastfeeding Week 2026

As part of World Breastfeeding Week, our team successfully conducted a series of awareness activities across Nalbari and Barpeta districts under the Child Rights and You (CRY) Project.

Throughout the week, community-level small-group awareness meetings were organized to highlight the importance of early initiation of breastfeeding, exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, appropriate complementary feeding, and family support for the health and well-being of mothers and children.

The celebration culminated in a central programme attended by pregnant women, mothers, frontline workers, and government stakeholders. A food demonstration session also showcased affordable, nutritious, and locally available complementary foods, promoting healthy feeding practices for young children.

These activities reaffirm our collective commitment to protecting every child’s right to nutrition, health, and a healthy start in life.

We sincerely thank all government departments, community members, frontline workers, and participants for their valuable support in making the celebration meaningful and impactful.
