The Ansali Bathou women farmers group, engaged in small-scale farming, earlier faced difficulties in irrigating their crops due to irregular rainfall, lack of electricity, and the high cost of diesel pumps. To address this challenge, the project supported the group with a solar powered portable irrigation pump, which uses renewable solar energy and can be easily moved between fields.

With this support, the group members are now able to irrigate their crops on time, improving cultivation and crop productivity. The intervention has strengthened women’s participation in farming activities and enhanced their confidence in managing agricultural resources. The experience of the Ansali Bathou group demonstrates how access to appropriate technology can improve farming practices and create better  livelihood opportunities for rural communities.
